Watching Porn Is the Same as Hiring a Prostitute
In today’s time, many cultures, whether spoken out loud or left unspoken, view pornography as “harmless entertainment”. It is seen as something that does not hurt anybody, just a “stress reliever.” But I say that viewing pornography is no different than hiring the services of a prostitute.
Viewing pornography may feel private and distant, but it still involves the same transaction as prostitution, sexual gratification in exchange for money. Spiritually and morally, and in the eyes of the Christian God (Matthew 5:28), there is no difference between the two.
Proofs the Pronography is no different than Prostitution
1. The Same Transaction
Every click, subscription, or view contributes to a multi-billion-dollar industry. Just as prostitution thrives because people are willing to pay for it, pornography thrives because people are willing to consume it.
2. Objectification of Human Beings
In prostitution and in pornagraphy, the person is stripped of dignity and treated as a product. This undermines the idea of human rights and respect for personhood.
3. The Psychological and Relational Damage
Pornography, like prostitution, shapes the mind, altering how people view intimacy and relationships.
It is common knowledge that frequent pornography use can lead to addiction, reduced satisfaction in real relationships, and unrealistic sexual expectations.
In both cases (prostitution and pornography) the cost is not just financial; it may also damages the psyche and personal relationships.
The Only Difference Between Pornography and Prostitution
The only thing the differentiates Pornography and Prostitution is the fact that the former is legal and the latter is not (in most countries).
